Job Description

NetCentrics is looking for an experienced Red Hat Systems Administrator to support our DOD (Department of Defense) contract, working in Huntsville, AL to support our team in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities include:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience with RHEL System Administration and Operating Systems Patching Support
  • Building (physical and virtual), installing and maintaining servers using the Red Hat Linux operating system
  • Configure both physical and virtual servers to meet project and customer requirements based on internally developed processes
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures to ensure the security posture of the environment
  • The ability to diagnosis problems and determine a resolution for applications in VMware ESXi and Linux x86 environments
  • Evaluate existing application and database requirements for projects, design solutions that address business needs, and implements efficient and cost saving server solutions
  • Provide key technical data including, but not limited to, capacity planning, implementation, configuration, and usage reporting
  • Monitoring log files, performance issues, and the production environment for mission critical systems
  • Configure both physical and virtual servers to meet project and customer requirements based on internally developed processes
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures to ensure the security posture of the environment
  • Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
  • Analyzes, and evaluates new software requirements and prepares specifications for software maintenance and upgrades
  • Coordinates other required technical resources to support software upgrades and installations
  • Coordinates pre- and post-installation operations and maintenance support, and documentation
           

Requirements:

 

  • Knowledge of shell scripting
  • Work independently and within a team structure
  • 3+ Years administering RedHat Linux with IDM
  • 1+ Years administering Solaris or equivalent UNIX experience
  • Network connectivity (TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, etc)
  • Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) connectivity
  • Shell, perl scripting or equivalent
  • Hardware maintenance for installing and replacing: hot swap power supplies and hard drives, expansion cards, fansThis position is only open to candidates with a minimum of a Secret Clearance

Education:

 

  • Requires MA/MS + 10 years’ experience or a BA/BS with 12+ years’ experience 
    Security+ CE certification required
