Job Description

NetCentrics Corporation is a leading provider of enterprise systems management, solutions engineering, applications development, information assurance, computer network defense and cybersecurity for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies.

 

NetCentrics is seeking a Network Architect to support a major Cyber CMD customer site. This is a new opportunity on a rapidly growing, existing government contract.  The ideal candidate should have an extensive network engineering background within DoD and/or IC environments and be capable of performing architecture assessments, reviews, design, testing, reengineering, and deploying new solutions within the existing environment.  This is a phenomenal customer location and environment located in Alexandria, VA!

 

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

 

  • Plans security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices
  • Administrate site survey’s, designs and implements complex networks that typically link numerous computing platforms, operating systems and network topologies across widely dispersed geographical areas
  • Provides functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training and quality assurance/quality control to Government customers, and contracting team members
  • Supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met
  • Work with staff members to ensure systems are patched and in compliance with all DHS and DoD regulations and STIGS
  • Create and update network diagrams and device documentation related to complicated network designs across various networks
  • Work well with government on design, purchasing, and implementation decisions
  • Work with peers to ensure documentation and knowledge sharing is adequate and there is no single point of failure

Required Skills/Experience/Education

Job Requirements (include min. years of exp, and specific technical tools, certifications):

  • At least 8 years of experience designing and creating network architectures over various networks within the DoD, DHS and/or iC
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Security (or related) An additional 5 years of additional consistent network engineering experience may be substituted for degree
  • Knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to LAN/WAN networks
  • In depth knowledge of networking such as LANs, WANs, VPNs, Routers, Switches and Firewalls
  • The ability to travel to remote sites to deploy or repair devices or attend meetings at customer sites (from time-to-time)
  • Must have active DoD Secret Clearance; preferably a TS/SCI
  • Must possess current CISSP (DoD 8570 IAM III) and recently passed the CCIE Written; a full CCIE certification is preferred
